The horror came from the effect that I could see the laws were going to have on the poor women working in the industry, who are left with no way to attract new clients as sites such as Back-page close down no way to talk to their existing clients as WhatsApp, Skype and social media shadow bans and censors conversations, and even face the loss of their property as Google just closes down accounts and refuses to return the contents of their Google Drives. The fascination came from wondering what was to come next as the industry adapted and evolved as it always has and always will. The excitement came from the fact that, if I am lucky, we might be entering an age of prohibition for the sex industry. Yes, I said if I am lucky. Escort agencies that are well run and well resourced and work with the sexiest escorts Marbella and elsewhere have to offer will do well no matter what the law and internet says. Prohibition was not exactly bad for the owners of the speakeasies, was it? Ans the fact that it is illegal has not exactly slowed down the narcotics business has it?
It is like Mae West once said “I believe in censorship. I made a fortune out of it.” Well, I am no Mae West and nor am I an Al Capone or Pablo Escobar. But as the owner of some of the best escort agencies in Europe and with a large database (kept very securely away from Google, thank you very much) of wonderful clients and escorts I should do very nicely in the changing environment, thank you very much.
